South
Carolina is one of the prettiest states in the U.S. Located
on the East Coast between
North Carolina and
Georgia,
The Palmetto State offers many seaside
resorts on the Atlantic that combine sandy beaches with an
historical center. You will get a good impression of what
life in the early years of the Unites States was like,
walking the cobbled streets of Charleston
visiting an 18th century mansion, or
taking a ferry ride to Ft. Sumter, where the civil war
began.
Another coastal city, Myrtle Beach is a part of the
Grand Strand and is a haven for golfers, swimmers and other
recreational enthusiasts. The Grand Strand is a perfect
family or romantic vacation spot along the sun-soaked coast.
Upstate
South Carolina offers many good outdoor possibilities. The
Blue Ridge Mountains are a favorite for hikers, campers,
outdoor sportsman and fisherman alike. But there is also
history here.
Greenville, situated north of the
Mountains, was once the textile center of the world. It now
has over 60 city parks and areas dedicated to preserving
their heritage.
In the
heart of South Carolina the capital city of
Columbia is a booming town, with
reminders of the civil war throughout the town. The Capitol
building is must see for history buffs; each bronze star on
the building indicates where a cannon ball struck the
building, and the statue of George Washington out front lost
the bottom of his cane to a cannon ball too!
The Gruber companies created a
point of presence in Myrtle Beach to service a growing base of
major east coast corporations.
